stand for?

Have been thinking about this Great Country we live in, and it's two party system and revelation hit me.
What is a Consevative ? What is a Liberal?

What do Conservatives stand for?
What is their platform?
Conservatives stand for 1) Morality, 2) Justice and fairness 3) Moderation 4) protection of the people 5)Government OF the people.

What do Liberals stand for?
What is their Platform ?
Liberals stand for 1) Immorality, 2) Lawlessness, 3) Greed, 4) control of the people, 5) Government run society.

Sad , but true. Yesterday I watched a panel of people discussing "socialism". One African American there said "You know what Socialism is ? Take a look at the black population in New York and Chicago. They're way dependent on government, and what has it gotten them? Ghettoes, poverty, crime and infighting."
That's where Government dependency has gotten them. " A profound statement, which I have never considered ! I also love the quote once made by Margaret Thatcher, " The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."

Well, here we are.

Wow, way to show an unbiased opinion. Maybe you should watch a little more Fox News. If you look at the points in your party comparisons I am pretty sure that both parties could be considered one in the same. Moral republicans in government, ummm yeah. Show me any politician that has decent morals. There is plenty of lawlessness in both parties. Greed? You're right all the Fat Cats on Wall Street that caused the banking problems are Democrats. Republicans were the only ones running companies that were playing by the rules. Protection? Sure republicans have a tendency to spend more on the military and Democrats choose to use a more diplomatic approach but if we were to have another “9/11” I am sure that both parties would respond in a similar fashion. Let’s just hope that we don’t have to test that theory out. Control of the people? Isn’t that what a government does? It doesn’t matter if it’s a Conservative or Liberal government. Government of the people vs. a government run society? How about corporate and special interest run society. Why else would we need lobbyist?

Lets face it both parties are messed up. What I can't understand is how people become brain washed to vote for one particular party only. It should be every Americans duty to research all candidates running for office and make an informed decision before they vote. Not just say “I am voting for this candidate because they are in the Republican/Democrat/Green/Independent party.” We need to get away from this two party system. Wake up and use your brain!

Can you post a link to where you heard this panel talking about socialism? Because you’re right, only African Americans are using government assistant programs (welfare, state health care, food stamps, etc…). Plus everybody knows that all African Americans living in Chicago or New York live in the ghetto and have the problems you mentioned. None of them hold important positions in society or live in “nice” neighborhoods. Only white people do.

Mike

P.S. If you’re going to quote Margaret Thatcher take a few moments to look up the quote.
"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."

Hey Mike, so you figure that that's what government does ? Controls the people? Hey cutie, the people are to control the government,"Government OF The People".
Also it's not the conservatives that try to pass "immoral " legislation, abortion and cloning of embryo tissue to produce organs to only mention a couple.
Also "Earmarks" or "Porkbarrel spending" was Liberally applied by Liberals this year, when Obama promised to not let that happen.
Be informed, like I said before, Liberals think that ignorance is bliss.

The Margaret Thatcher quote WAS correctly quoted... what exactly is "Mike" suggesting we look up?

And as far as "unbiased opinions"? Um, "Mr. Mike" doesn't sound so unbiased himself...
